HICKORY / LEATHER / BAUMRITTER 1950’s BOOMERANG CHAIR BACK – RECLAIMED

The Yard Sale Series is an ongoing project in which the force of attraction to some aspect of found furniture in disrepair becomes the creative spark for a new design.  HICKORY CHAIR reclaims the solid wood boomerang chair back – from a vintage 1950’s “Viko” line by Baumritter*, a mass produced wood/metal/vinyl cafeteria chair.  Following the original forms, Krystine has mimicked the chair with a very solid hickory frame, exposed slip joints and a leather cushion.

*Baumritter (designer), a United States manufacturer of Mid-Century Modern furniture.
