A design inspired by Danish Modern furniture joinery, the legs are suspended away from the table top with a wing shaped piece that joins to the apron/frame.  As part of an ongoing Yard Sale Series, early 1900’s stair balusters of genuine mahogany have been reclaimed and refinished with black lacquer and strengthened by a metal X-brace.  Historically, balusters had been used in 19th century Neo-Renaissance furniture. 
The Yard Sale Series is an ongoing project in which the force of attraction to some aspect of found furniture in disrepair becomes the creative spark for a new design.
